Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—

From the Presidency

Dear Sisters....This life can be hard. Our struggles, at times can make us strong and other times they can drop us to our knees. During times of trouble, I am reminded of the blessings of being a member of the Relief Society, an organization full of compassion. What a blessing it is to serve with you and be served by you. So many of you have reached out to others and have truly been a relief for them, even an answer to a prayer. You are indeed disciples of Christ, when you mourn with those who mourn, comfort those in need of comfort, and so on.

We love you all,
The Relief Society Presidency

Messages for Women

Gordon B. Hinckley

Believe in yourself. Believe in your capacity to do great and good things. Believe that no mountain is so high that you cannot climb it. Believe that no storm is so great that you cannot weather it. You are not destined to be a scrub. You are a child of God, of infinite capacity.
Believe that you can do it - whatever it is that you set your heart on. Opportunities will unfold and open before you. The skies will clear when they have been dark with portent.

Marjorie Pay Hinckley

The trouble with the world and the trouble with you and me is that we don't love each other enough, And if we do, we don't bother to show it, or we don't bother to say it. If the world is to know love, it has to be in your heart and in mine, And the Lord can fill our hearts with love if we will just go to Him.
Pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart ,that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ. - Moroni 7:48

Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I believe that as you immerse yourselves in the work of our Father—as you create beauty and as you are compassionate to others—God will encircle you in the arms of His love. (RS Broadcast 2008)

A Note from the Presidency

Dear Sweet Sisters....

Seeing you reach out to each other time and time again is so wonderful! It brings me to tears as I think of you giving what you do not have to give, as you push other things out of the way to serve each other...The True light of Christ Shines through you....How pleased our Heavenly Father must be when he sees you quietly serving and loving one another.....I can never thank each of you individually for all you do....but know that our Father In Heaven knows your hearts and is pleased when he sees you listening to the spirit and reaching out to those in need...God Bless You All....real good...I Love you with all of my heart,Sister Crockett

Eternally Encircled in His Love

Bonnie D. Parkin - Ensign, Nov 2006, 108–10

I know that [Heavenly Father] loves us, sisters, as does His Son, Jesus Christ. That love will never change—it is constant.

Our Heavenly Father loved us before we came to this earth. I know that He loves us, sisters, as does His Son, Jesus Christ. That love will never change—it is constant. You can rely on it. We can trust it.Just as the motto of Relief Society reminds us that “charity never faileth,” we must believe that the love of Christ will never fail us. All that we do in Relief Society should reflect the love of our Savior and the love of our Heavenly Father. This great love should be the source of our motivation to serve others. It must be both our point of origin and our destination!

The Lord’s love is often delivered through others as they respond to promptings of the Spirit. Are we hearing and following those promptings?

I fear sometimes we see the Lord’s love only in the big events of our lives; we must also see His love in the smallest of things. Don’t underestimate your ability to share His love through a simple, genuine gesture such as sitting next to another sister and making her feel welcome.

In my morning prayers I ask Heavenly Father to fill me with His love so that I can do His work with more heart. I know that I have been blessed because of this daily petition. As Relief Society sisters, we must strive to manifest the love of Christ, who always sought to please His Father by doing His will. Sisters, we must make every effort to follow His supreme example—to demonstrate such love through our thoughts, our speech, our actions—in all the things we do and are. We must not allow pride or vanity, selfishness or personal agendas to displace our reaching out to others in love. Quite simply and profoundly, we must first allow ourselves to be encircled by God’s love. We do this best by embracing the Savior’s eternal Atonement. Then we can expand that circle to include our family and all others. Such a circle is indeed heaven.

Note from the Presidency

Dear Sisters,
We have our Stake Temple day scheduled this month....Please arrange your schedules so that you can attend! The Lord has promised us blessings untold if we will righteously attend the Temple. I would dare say that we all are in need of the blessings received there.
I would like to challenge you to help another sister get to the Temple this month. We all have over scheduled lives....but if someone that cares about us would encourage us to go...then possibly we would! Ask around and get someone else to go with you! ....I have 5 extra seats in my van, Dana has the same and we will be glad to have you ride with us...We can have a Happy Day together!
Come on Girls....LET"S Go!!!!!!!!!!

Love, Your Relief Society Presidency...Carol, Gloria, Cathy and Dana
p.s. Thanks to all that pinch hit in our absence....you are awesome!

Words from Gordon B. Hinckley

"I would hope that we might go to the house of the Lord a little more frequently. . . . In this noisy, bustling, competitive world, what a privilege it is to have a sacred house where we may experience the sanctifying influence of the Spirit of the Lord."
