Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—

Note From the RS Presidency

Dear Sisters,

I hope this new month finds all of you well. I want each of you to know how much I love you and pray for your well being. As I was reading this past month I came across a quote from President Ezra Taft Benson which I would like to share, "Daily, constantly, we choose by our desires, our thoughts, and our actions whether we want to be blessed or cursed, happy or miserable." My hope is that we all will choose to look at the good in ourselves and in others and remember the many blessings our Heavenly Father has given us.

Love,
Sister Parker

March Note From The RS Presidency

DEAR SISTERS,

IN 1842, A SMALL GROUP OF WOMEN IN NAUVOO, ILLINOIS, GATHERED TO FORM A SEWING SOCIETY TO PROVIDE CLOTHES FOR THE TEMPLE WORKERS. HOWEVER, AS THE PROPHET JOSEPH SMITH COUNSELED THEM, THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD BE NOT ONLY TO RELIEVE THE POOR, BUT TO SAVE SOULS. THUS RELIEF SOCIETY WAS BORN. JOSEPH SMITH FORMALLY ORGANIZED THE RELIEF SOCIETY ON MARCH 17, 1842 WITH HIS WIFE EMMA AS ITS FIRST PRESIDENT. THE SISTERS QUICKLY SET TO WORK HELPING THE NEEDY. BY THE SUMMER OF 1842, THE RELIEF SOCIETY ORGANIZATION HAD GROWN SO LARGE THAT NO BUILDING IN NAUVOO COULD ACCOMMMODATE ITS NUMBERS.

LET US REMEMBER WHAT A BLESSING IT IS TO BE PART OF SUCH AN IMPORTANT ORGANIZATION AND WHAT WE CAN ACCOMPLISH WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER TO HELP ONE ANOTHER. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Dear Sisters

Dear Sisters,
As we usher in a new year, my thoughts turn to how we can, as a wonderful group of Latter-Day Saint women, come together to help each other "fulfill our three lifelong responsibilities as members of the Relief Society", as outlined by Sister Beck: (1) increase our faith and personal righteousness, (2)strengthen our homes and families, and (3) seek out and help those in need. I pray we may keep these responsibilities in our minds as we make our new year's resolutions and welcome in 2010.

Happy New Year!

Note From The Relief Society President

DEAR SISTERS,
AS CHRISTMAS IS FAST APPROACHING AND WE ARE ALL VERY BUSY, LET US TRY TO TAKE TIME TO REMEMBER OUR SAVIOR AND HIS BIRTH. LET US ALSO REMEMBER HIS EXAMPLE OF PERFECT LOVE. IN JOHN 13:34 WE READ "A NEW COMMANDMENT I GIVE UNTO YOU, THAT YE LOVE ONE ANOTHER, AS I HAVE LOVED YOU.." PLEASE THINK ABOUT ALL THOSE YOU VISIT TEACH THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON, TAKE TIME TO GO VISIT WITH THEM AND LET US ALL HAVE CHARITY IN OUR HEARTS. MAY YOU ALL HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
LOVE,
SISTER PARKER

A Note From the Presidency

Dear sisters,

After the initial shock of being called as your new Relief Society president, I am really excited to get to know all of you better and to serve you to the best of my ability. I am also very excited and anxious to begin working with my new counselors, Sister Shelly Brock, and Sister Beckie Shepherd. I want us all to work together to make Relief Society a positive and wonderful experience for all involved. I want us to learn from each other, love each other, and grow in the gospel together. My love and prayers are with each one of you.

Note From The Presidency

Dear Sisters,
The General Relief Society Broadcast was wonderful....I loved hosting the broadcast here in our building. It felt so cozy to have so many women together loving each other and looking forward to instruction from our precious leaders. Please continue to be the hand of the Lord as you reach out to those in need around you.
There is no doubt in my mind about the promptings for good that we receive from the Lord through the Holy Ghost. I know that the Holy Ghost prompts us daily to do good for others. My prayer is that we will be spiritually in tune enough to hear and then act upon those promptings. One important way that we can know of the needs of others is through our Visiting Teaching....Please do yours...The Holidays are upon us and it will be great to truly show our respect and Love of Christ through the service we give to our Sisters in the Gospel. This is my testimony, In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Love Sister Crockett

From the Presidency

Dear Sisters....This life can be hard. Our struggles, at times can make us strong and other times they can drop us to our knees. During times of trouble, I am reminded of the blessings of being a member of the Relief Society, an organization full of compassion. What a blessing it is to serve with you and be served by you. So many of you have reached out to others and have truly been a relief for them, even an answer to a prayer. You are indeed disciples of Christ, when you mourn with those who mourn, comfort those in need of comfort, and so on.

We love you all,
The Relief Society Presidency

Dear Sweet Sisters....

Seeing you reach out to each other time and time again is so wonderful! It brings me to tears as I think of you giving what you do not have to give, as you push other things out of the way to serve each other...The True light of Christ Shines through you....How pleased our Heavenly Father must be when he sees you quietly serving and loving one another.....I can never thank each of you individually for all you do....but know that our Father In Heaven knows your hearts and is pleased when he sees you listening to the spirit and reaching out to those in need...God Bless You All....real good...I Love you with all of my heart,Sister Crockett

Note from the Presidency

Dear Sisters,
We have our Stake Temple day scheduled this month....Please arrange your schedules so that you can attend! The Lord has promised us blessings untold if we will righteously attend the Temple. I would dare say that we all are in need of the blessings received there.
I would like to challenge you to help another sister get to the Temple this month. We all have over scheduled lives....but if someone that cares about us would encourage us to go...then possibly we would! Ask around and get someone else to go with you! ....I have 5 extra seats in my van, Dana has the same and we will be glad to have you ride with us...We can have a Happy Day together!
Come on Girls....LET"S Go!!!!!!!!!!

Love, Your Relief Society Presidency...Carol, Gloria, Cathy and Dana
p.s. Thanks to all that pinch hit in our absence....you are awesome!

June Note from Presidency

Dear Sisters,

I would like to recommend a youtube video that is on http://www.lds.org/. It is from President Eyrings talk, O Remember, Remember. It's just wonderful....He suggests to us that as we contemplate our days activity, that we earnestly seek to see the hand that "God" played in our life that day. As we do this he suggests that we ask ourselves...Have I seen the Hand of God reaching out to touch us? He says that we might pray and ponder....Did God send a message that was just for me? President Eyring is so gentle and kind as he helps us to be aware and grateful for the way that God does bless each one of us.... My prayer is a quote from a dear friend that loved me so......He always said to me.... "God Bless You...real good"

That's my prayer for all of you...
Love, Sister Crockett

Note from the Presidency

Dear Sisters,
Do you ever feel that Motherhood wasn't outlined as clearly as it should have been? Ha ... That we had a lot to learn along the way? Hee Hee... Well I certainly have learned alot and I thought I would share a few of those comical moments that children have shared with me.
Tyler said "Someone at my church is going to get "Bath-tized" so they will be all clean"! Ha
Kendl said to me when she was about 6....Mama who made God? As I quietly thought about what to say she said "oh, don't worry about it Mama...I will ask Him when I see Him. Ha.....
Ray and Katie drove by a new construction area and they had torn down all of the beautiful trees.....Shocked Ray said, look Katie...they have torn down all of the trees....that’s terrible, they shouldn't do that. Katie said, "ya...God made those trees..."
Children are so precious....We are so blessed as women to be nurturers...I truly believe some of our most treasured moments in life will be from nurturing the children of our own and those of the world. Thank you for loving the children.
A Very Happy Mother's Day to you...The Precious Women of the Conway 1st Ward!
Love, Your Relief Society Presidency, Carol....etc.

Note from the RS Presidency

Happy Easter Sweet Sisters....

I also believe as Elder Holland does that there are angels among us. I pray that you will assist them as you are doing your visiting teaching. Each of us needs to feel the love of our sisters in the gospel... I'm smiling as I think of you doing the work of Angels.....You are Angels...to me.....

All my Love Sister Crockett....
